Little Miss Sassy

As reported by her preschool teacher ....

Oakley was sitting up on her cot last week during nap time. After she attempted to wake up one of her little friends for an impromptu conversation. During nap time when all the other children were sleeping soundly. This has been an ongoing problem at school. She never has a problem napping at home, but will resist it at school at all costs.

And she still REALLY needs her nap. On days that she refuses to nap at school, she looks drugged when I pick her up. And she's whiny. And she will totally meltdown if one of her brothers looks at her wrong. Or if she can't find her bunny. Or for no reason at all.

Anyway ... her beloved teacher, Ms. Kuk, told Oakley that she needed to lie back down on her cot and take her nap.

"I WILL ..... in a minute!" replied little Miss Sassy. (She might as well have thrown her hand on her hip.)

And although it may sound funny coming out of a three-year-old's mouth once, it won't be cute for long. So we had a discussion on the way home about being respectful to Ms. Kuk and remembering to say "Yes Mam," when she's directed to do something. And I remind her every morning that I expect her to take a nap when all the other children do, and to NOT wake up her friends.

So, while I'm not thrilled with her sassy mouth, I LOVE her sassy new haircut!

She's really proud of it and I think it looks adorable on her. Her hair is so thick and straight. We're going for a little swing bob that's stacked in the back.

I'm trying hard to let her bangs grow out, so we still have to pull them up in a bow, and the sides still have a lot of layers to grow out, but it's starting to take shape!

Oh I love her sassy little haircut too! I am trying to let Kimmie's bangs and odd lengths grow out to one even length too. Oakley's hair reminds me of Kimmie's, so maybe one day soon I can get her a cute little style like this! :)
You know, naps do get in the way of much conversation time, Mom! ;)
What a doll!

Oh Oakley,

I just love the new do!! You look great.
And believe me, I hate my nap too. I cry and fuss, but my mom says, " Yes, you are taking a nap" I do not get it, what's the big deal?
Talk to you later my friend,

Ok, Love Love Love the new do. I sure hope Lily's hair comes in like that. I can't wait to show my sister these pics, so she can cut Lily's like this when her hair comes in better.

This is our 3rd week straight that we can't get Lily to take a nap. We try and she just plays and takes her clothes off, and jumps up and down in her crib. Oh' I miss those naps.

I just found your website and I am SO glad I did. Your sweetie is ADORABLE! I am a first grade teacher and let me tell ya, it would be hard for me to discipline a cutie like Oakley. I have a sassy girl at home, too. Aren't they the best? Her hair cut is darling! I wouldn't mind having it myself : )

I really, really love her haircut and her shirt. What a doll. So cute and yes...sassy. If you wanted her to not talk like that then you shouldn't have given her that sassy haircut! What did you expect? It just brings it out in her. BTW~ I love the hand on the hip thing. Where do these 3 year olds get that? I'm sure their mamas never do such a thing. I can't imagine where my 3 year old learned it.

She is such a cutie. What great photos of the haircut. Her and my daughter have a very similar style haircut. I love the ease of it, don't you? My daughter, Kenidi Grace, is 4.5 years old. Thanks for sharing the photos. They are too cute.
