When at first I saw Oakley's photo, she was not quite two years old. I gazed into her eyes and saw an old soul .. a baby who had endured too much, laughed too little, and waited too long for the unconditional love of her family.
We answered a call and I praise God every day for whispering to our hearts. She is happy, she is loved, she is ours, she is needed. We needed Oakley as much she needed us.

Can my heart melt any more? I was with Sher tonight and we talked about what a precious miracle Oakley and her love is. :) Both ways. And from me to her give her some more. She just makes me want to go AAAAHHHHHHHHHH.
Well said !!
It's the most amazing thing-the best thing in life.
Being loved and having someone to
love is one of the greatest gifts
that God gives us. Isn't it wonderful how the Lord can make
this happen. We can see the love
in the pictures that you post.
You have so many firsts to share
with your little daughter.
Blessings to you all!
Okay, Jana, I thought when you all made it back to the US, I wouldn't get teary-eyed reading your new posts. This one just proved (yet again) that I was wrong.
I think she gets more adorable with every picture you take. :)
She is just precious Jana. Please email me privately and tell me what kind of camera you are using. What beautiful pictures you have of Oakley and your family. All I can say is WoW.
Oakley is THE most adorable girl I have ever seen. I love to see her grow and change.
P.S. Have you ever heard of the gymnast Jin Yang? She looks like an older version of Oakley.
Oh Jana.....I'm so happy reading your last few posts. Oakley looks so happy and I cant believe how well she is adjusting. She is so beautiful!!!!
Well I'm all ready to go to China.....just battling the nerves!!! How did you make it through????
Look foward to seeing more pictures of your beautiful girl blossom!!!
HUGS
That last photo is priceless! look at her joy! she is a beauty! what a great story about her and her orphanage friend. how great that they will always have each other! :)
Amen....beautiful girl inside and out! And yes, it is the most AMAZING call ever answered. I'm still in the "okay, I would like some normalcy" stage but reading your posts shows me how quickly things do get to the "new" normal stage. Look how far Oakley's come! The promise of better table manners is appealing to me! :) (See your "Six Short Weeks" post")
I wonder what my two will be like in six short weeks....
For now, we carry on trying to adjust to our new life! :)
Thanks for sharing!
Laine
