We're Making Progress

It's been a productive weekend!
  • I made the thank you cards I'll be including with the gifts we'll present to the Chinese officials.

  • I ordered Oakley's window treatments and the fabric I need to make her memory board.

  • Mike has the trim up in Oakley's room and has started to paint!

  • I finished my taxes for Creative Memories and we're ready to deliver everything to our accountant this week. A HUGE load of my mind (and Mike's)!
Quite an accomplishment given the fact that we fit all this in amidst four soccer games ... three of them being out-of-town! We even made time last night for a little impromptu bonfire in the backyard by the lake.

p.s. You can't roast mini-marshmallows. It doesn't work.

LOL! Never thought about roasting mini marshmallows! Husband really got a kick out of that one! I LOVE the cards...very special. Oakley's backpack is so fun, too. This gives me great ideas for K and Q! Thank you for sharing, Jana!

I've really enjoyed reading your blog, Jana, and am looking forward to meeting my new niece. I am changing jobs next week, and one of the incentives was a more liberal time-off policy, because I want to come home and visit...of course after she has assimilated some. Love you guys!

Hey Jana I can't post a comment below with her backpack post, but a friend told me that their daughter was having a REALLY hard time and the only thing that consoled her in the hotel and on the trip back to the US was a DVD player with cartoons. She didn't like dvds with people in them but loved animation. I'm wondering if it's because there were no dvds with Asian people? Anyhow I think I am going to order Oakley the baby signing time DVD it has lots of animation and can help you guys communicate too. Love you!
